Black & Brew crew,

While the NFL couldn't have hoped to match the excitement of the Divisional Round from last year where every game was decided on the final play of the game, there was still enough excitement on both days to keep things interesting.

Results for this Divisional Playoff round have been posted to the league's standings page.

Details for each team can be found here.

(With the participant list growing so much over the past few years, I'm sure I'm not alone in having difficulty finding my name when scanning through so I've added in a personal "logo" that might be easier to spot.  If you'd like one added or changed please just let me know and we'll find you something).

With no individual player putting up the big week and scores of most of the popular quarterbacks being relatively close to each other, the key to the week was having Travis Kelce (appeared 7 times in the top 9) and the Philadelphia defense (appeared 6 times).  It was still possible to have both of them not rank near the top but that meant getting nailed with both Tony Pollard's injury and A.J. Brown's pouty performance.

The top performer's for the Divisional Playoff Round were pretty common plays with the exception of Kenneth Gainwell who made the most of his 13 touches.

The 2127 points scored by that lineup really shows how low scoring this week was when you compare it to last year's optimal Divisional Round week of 3011.

Most popular lineup this week would have looked like this and would have placed in the top 15.

The highest scoring popular picks were all winners this weekend, so it will be interesting to see in the Championship Playoff round how everyone starts to navigate not being able to select from those popular players.

- Everett Schroeder [19th place overall] has 10 names on the list this week that he cannot pick from.  But he is not alone: five more (Eric Schettler, Andrew Laures, Joe Kornhoff, Alex Kahn, and Anna Engler) have been really good at picking players on winning teams. Unfortunately that will not help them in this game.

- Nearly two dozen participants have 3 or fewer players unavailable to them, but Sarah Murphy [13th place overall] stands to do the most damage to the leaders above her.

- Last year's Conference Playoff round 3rd and 4th place spots went to participants that did not submit a roster in the Divisional Playoff round. I do not know if it was an intentional strategy, but will be keeping an eye on Darrin Johnson, Kevin Schrobilgen, and Cole Hoff this week to see how they fare.

Rosters for the Conference Playoff Round can now be assembled at the roster builder page.

Players previously selected by you are automatically excluded from the list for selection but please let me know if you see any issues.

No guarantee is being made that injured players have been removed from the roster builder.

I have removed players that are on the longer term injured reserve list, but not those that are marked as questionable by their teams.  I encourage everyone to check on the injury status of their desired player before selecting them.

Rosters are due before kickoff of the kickoff of the San Francisco 49ers at Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday 1/29 at 2:00PM CST.  Neither roster submissions nor changes will be allowed after that point.

PLEASE turn in your roster before this time.  If you are someone who tends to forget about this sort of thing (pointing at myself), submit one right now here. You can change it as many times as you want between now and that kickoff.  Only the last submitted team before the lock will be used.

When you submit your roster, you should find your current balance.  If this is a negative number, please send your entry fee to either via Paypal or Venmo.

Once kickoff occurs, live scoring will be available at blackandbrew.net.

Thanks and good luck this week!
